About CDIP

CDIP is a non-governmental non-profit development organization founded in 1995 with registration from Registrar of Joint Stock Company, Dhaka. It is governed by a body of General members through its elected Governing Body.

Activities of CDIP

Major activities include microfinance, education support for children, and primary healthcare in rural areas of Bangladesh. CDIP also invests resources for innovative projects of its own and to support innovators. More about CDIP can be seen in www.cdipbd.org

Size of CDIP

Currently CDIP has 141 Branch offices and 2,560 education support centres. The microfinance programme had 1,76,114 borrowers with an outstanding amount of Taka 552,93,26,104/- in November 2018. The education programme includes 2,560 female teachers to support 51,200 students. The health programme is manned by 102 Medical Assistants and 115 volunteers supervised by a medical doctor.

Description of the Position

Reporting to the Executive Director, Director (Strategy and Development) will be responsible for the following:

  • Broadening the activities of CDIP to relevant areas in line with CDIP’s vision and mission to face future development challenges facing Bangladesh and ensure CDIP’s sustainability. New areas may include identification and development of appropriate rural industries, financial products, model for health delivery, innovations in education, and overseeing their implementation for results;
  •  Ensure and maximize economic and social development of existing and future members of CDIP;
  •  Reviewing the existing policies and manuals, and suggesting improvement to be at par with national and international best practices;
  • Strengthen CDIP’s communication activities;
  • Assisting the Executive Director in Board matters including the Governing Body meetings;
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s level education in any discipline with at least 10 years of experience in areas related to tasks listed above.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in earlier employments;
  • Ability to articulate a strong vision for the future of CDIP;
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills;
  • Should have excellent oral and writing communication skills;
  • Exceptional integrity and ethical character.

The above may be relaxed in case of exceptionally promising candidates.

Salary and benefits

  •  Salary is negotiable in consideration of applicant’s past salary. Benefit as per CDIP policies.
